1.Any counselor will tell you that, " The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem." I don't want to exaggerate the point, but it is worth mentioning because most of us will keep tripping over the same pile of stuff until we finally get tired of it and do something about it.

2.Look at the big picture, what is it that you are trying to accomplish, ie; organizing the sports equipment in the garage or maximizing the space in your master bedroom closet. Create a list of items that must stay, and a list of items that can be moved elsewhere. (I am a big fan of lists they keep you on task)

3. a. What is a reasonable time frame for your project to be completed? b. Will you be doing the work yourself or hiring a professional?

4. If you are a DIY'er than pick a day NOW! Do not procrastinate, the sooner you commit to your project the sooner it will be accomplished. If your free time is limited, or if you would rather let a pro deal with the mess than call today, RIGHT NOW!

Again do not procrastinate, the likelyhood of you remembering to call for a consultation after you have gone onto something else is slim to none.

These are very basic points, but than would you follow a long drawn out tutorial? Probably not.

I would be remiss in this blog if I didn't leave my e-mail, web address and phone number for you to get in touch with us.

It happens every year, as we transition from winter to spring the inevitable always takes place; The dreaded spring cleanup...

Here in the northeast winters can be pretty rough on everything, including the inhabitants. Inside the home one of the issues we deal with is where to put all those winter clothes, now that the more desireable weather is coming. If your like most, it's stuff and pile time in your closets, You know what I mean...

There is a solution, and you probably guessed it, Yes space optimization, just a fancy phrase to describe making use of the space you already have, just more efficiently.

Let our team of professional designers, and installers show you how you can actually like your closets again, and not break the bank in the process.

One more topic to discuss...

The same principles used in the home can be used in another trouble spot, Yes the garage.

Slatwall Products:

Over the years many manufacturers of slat wall products have cropped up, on websites as well as in magazines.

In my opinion none compare to Storewall, it is both attractive and tough, standing up to the demands that a garage was designed to dish out.

Look for more posts on our site as well as a full retail store, where you can purchase slatwall and slatwall accessories right from the comfort of your home. (Coming soon)

If you choose to have NECD install your slatwall garage system, you will rest easy knowing that from the start of your project, to the very last accessory attached, You are hiring a dedicated team of professionals that are here to make the process easy to understand as well as functional, and attractive.

If your a DIY'er, we will be here to stear you in the right direction, and give you the customer support you need when you have questions.

As always thanks for reading the ramblings of a man who loves organization. Is that an oximoron?

Look for more interesting topics, as well as useful information you can use everday to stay organized, and productive. Subscribe to our blog @ http://www.newenglandclosetdesign.com/
